How To Rent Flatshare Properties For Free

If you are researching how and where to advertise and rent flat share properties on the internet then it is worth taking a few minutes to consider the following important points.

Does the website cover your area or neighbourhood?

There is no point placing your advert on a site that only covers London and the South East of England if your property is in Yorkshire or a similar northern county. You should also remember that smaller areas can be just as unsuitable, for example if you want to rent flat share properties in St Albans then you will not want to restrict your location to within the M25.

Does the website have easy to use listing and searching facilities?

Web users will become quickly dissatisfied if they find they have to input a great deal of information and cannot access fast results. Location, size and price should be the essential first search criteria - giving a list of possible property. Visitors to the site can then narrow down their search and choose extra features that they would like.

Can you upload photos?

It is a fact that the properties for sale or to let that have good photographs will be viewed more frequently and are likely to go faster. An advert to rent flat share accommodation is no exception to this rule. You may be able to upload one free photo or you may have the option to pay a little extra and have unlimited space.

Can you upload videos?

Another useful thing a website can have is the ability to upload videos of the property which you wish to let out. A budding flatmate can also upload a video of themselves if they believe I will help them to attract the right sort of flatmate.

This is usually a good idea when you wish to move upmarket and you will find that some flatmates will actually take a vote on deciding who they wish to share with them.

Is there enough space for a full written description?

Some website will restrict the number or characters or words you can use, if you think that your accommodation deserves a fuller description then make sure the website you have chosen will allow you to do this.

Who are your competitors?

Check out the quality of other property listings and the prices that they are asking, compare your own furnishings and fittings as well as the location - be realistic about the rental amount you can achieve when you rent flat share properties.

Will you have to pay commission?

Some sites will allow you to list and rent flatshare properties for free. Others will charge a one off payment or commission. Decide how important this is to you and consider using a free listing site to test the water before signing up to extra services and making any payments.

Does the website provide house share rental information

If a website allows flatshare listings, then it is imperative that it should provide information on various aspects of the flatshare market including but not limited to things like tenancy rights, landlord rights, tenancy referencing, location information and various articles on subjects related to sharing flats and shared accommodation.
